A Healing Journey: What the Process Might Look Like

Healing and personal growth rarely happen in a straight line. These stages give a sense of the themes we may explore together, but we may move back and forth between them. Some stages may take more or less time than others depending on what you need.

1. Commitment

Beginning the journey with intention

We start by exploring what you truly want to change or grow in your life. This is about making a clear commitment to yourself and to the process.

  • Clarify what you are committed to in your life and wellbeing

  • Recognise the body as a powerful resource for transformation

  • Increase awareness of bodily sensations and signals (somatic awareness)

2. Regenerating Safety

Rebuilding a sense of safety within yourself

Healing becomes possible when the body and nervous system feel safe enough.

  • How your nervous system learned to respond to the world

  • Patterns that once helped you cope but may no longer serve you

  • Developing a felt sense of safety and support

  • Strengthening your connection to inner and external resources

3. Somatic Opening

Opening and releasing through the body

As safety grows, the body can begin to release held tension, emotions, and old protective patterns.

  • Gentle body-based exploration

  • Allowing emotions and sensations to move and shift

  • Releasing old stories or patterns that may still live in the body

4. Connection

Deepening connection with yourself and others

Much healing happens through relationship.

  • Building mutual connection and trust

  • Understanding interdependence (how we affect and support each other)

  • Healing shame and increasing self-acceptance

  • Developing intimacy and emotional range

  • Learning to see conflict as something that can lead to growth and understanding

5. Integration in Daily Life

Living in alignment with your new awareness

Healing becomes meaningful when it begins to shape your everyday life.

  • Creating supportive practices and routines

  • Taking actions aligned with your values and wellbeing

  • Developing sustainable ways of caring for yourself

6. Sustainable Change

Strengthening long-term wellbeing

Over time we focus on reinforcing what you’ve learned and helping it become part of how you live.

  • Refining tools and practices that support you

  • Strengthening resilience and self-trust

  • Continuing to practice and embody wellbeing in daily life
